This paper presents a case study on obesity undertaken at the Saudi Aramco Medical Services Organization (SAMSO). Saudi Arabia has seen a drastic change in its nutritional and health profile in the past decades as a result of changes in dietary habits, socio-economic situation, and lifestyle. Statistical data on obesity are presented with comparison to other developed countries facing similar situations.


Presenter – Dr. Macodou Sall

Dr. Macodou Sall received a Doctor of Public Health Degree in Epidemiology from Tulane University, and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Health from Old Dominion University. He has over 12 years of experience working in Public Health Research and in International Health and Development. He worked as an Epidemiologist for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and has actively participated in the redaction of numerous reports for USAID.
