Organizations have their own safety standards and programs; their effectiveness at minimizing risks is dependent on behavioral compliance in the work place. The key element to achieve safety excellence is to establish a behavior-based safety program within the organization. This paper discusses one Saudi Aramco department’s journey in implementing this program, sharing the program success criteria and misconceptions that could be encountered in every organization.

    • 2001 – 2003: Project Engineer in Berri Gas Plant Department (Saudi Aramco) working in Ethane & NGL Recovery Plant project
    • 2003 – 2005: Process Engineer in Ethane & NGL Recovery Plant
    • 2005 – 2007: Lead Process Engineer of Ethane & NGL Recovery Plant & Gas Sweetening Plant
    • 2007 – 2008: Quality Assurance Group Leader
    • 2008 – 2009: Operation Foreman (Gas Sweetening Unit)
    • Nov (2009) – now: Project Engineer for Shaybah NGL Program, Leatherhead, UK.
      • Attended multi-courses in process engineering, safety, rotating equipment, instrumentation, risk assessment & HAZOP Leadership
      • Involved in many incidents/injuries investigation committees
