INTRODUCTION & BACKGROUND
The American Society of Safety Engineer (ASSE) is an independent and non-profit professional organization. It consists of over 32,000 professional members. The ASSE mission is to foster the technical, scientific, managerial and ethical knowledge, skills and competency of SH&E professionals for the protection of people, property, and the environment.
The Middle East Chapter (ASSE-MEC) was established in 1982 and has held several conferences and technical meetings in the Gulf region. These conferences and meetings have attracted many international speakers, a variety of exhibitors and large number of attendees. The broad range of subjects addressed, the sharing and dissemination of knowledge, and the resulting discussions made these conferences a recognized success. These successes have encouraged ASSE-MEC to organize this conference, on February 18-22, 2012, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the theme “Your Safety is our Business Your Future is our Mission”.
