Introduction

This workshop has been developed for employers and employees interested in management of change methods. This course looks to provide a practical approach to the process of implementing and managing change in your organization. It includes role-playing the implementation of a change management plan into an organization using a change management technique.


Target Audience

All market industry segments;
  • Appointed team leaders or supervisors
  • Anybody wanting to develop a particular management skill

All managers who are newly promoted recruited or have been in their job for some time but have no formal training. It is also suitable for technical staff looking to broaden their role with the organisation.


Workshop Objectives

  1. Describe how both internal and external pressures on your organization can lead to change
  2. Identify future changes which need to take place in your department or section
  3. Establish priorities for these changes
  4. Assess the extent to which your organization encourages innovation and responds to change
  5. Identify change agents in your organization
  6. Analyze your responses to change
  7. Analyze the forces for and against a proposed change in your own department
  8. Identify reasons for, and source of, resistance to change
  9. Suggest ways of overcoming resistance to change
  10. Assess the costs and benefits of top-down and bottom-up planning for change
  11. Identify the need for a structured approach to planning change
  12. Identify the benefits of consultation
  13. Identify the ways in which you can meet the objectives of a change you have planned
  14. Set up mechanisms for monitoring the implementation of the change
  15. Evaluate the impact of the change.

Workshop Instructor – Mr. Wayne Basson

During the past 20 years, Mr. Wayne Basson has-
  • Trained and consulted on Risk management best practice for blue chip clients in Bahrain, Hong Kong, China, PNG, Indonesia, Canada, Turkey, Argentina, Chile, Peru, USA, Indonesia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Australia.
  • Judged international Risk Management competitions in various sectors such as petro-chemical plants, power stations, motor manufacturing, mines, hospitals, hotels, forestry, and breweries.
  • Held senior positions such as Principal Auditor, General Manager and Auditing Director responsible for auditing policy and protocols.
  • Managed the accreditation of all HSE auditors for an international Risk Management company.
  • Currently heads up a Technical Review Panel for HSE audit reports in SA and Australia.
  • Has presented several papers at international conferences and conventions.
  • Attained qualifications in General Management, Risk Management, and Auditor Certifications in ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001 and OHSAS: 18001.
